Joey Maker – Young Anakin

After releasing his first single Sangreal on June 14th, Sydney-based rapper Joey Maker dropped his highly anticipated solo debut EP ‘Young Anakin’ available now in all streaming platforms. The extended play follows the theme and premise of the single, expressing Joey’s inner thoughts and dark side, painted on a canvas of dark yet satisfying production.

The introspective project was birthed from a flow of inspiration while traveling South-East Asia, and with a different view on life and perception, Joey tapped into a realm that wasn’t yet explored. The result is his offering in ‘Young Anakin’. Feeling each creative juice at various stages and thematically linking them together, Joey hopes his first solo project will further his followings understanding of who he is as a person and artist.

“Through the Young Anakin project, I hope for listeners to see many different layers of who I am!” – Joey Maker

Gaining industry attention in the form of Triple J Plays and being main support slots for some of the countries/world’s most elite (Butterfingers, Esoterik, Obie Trice, K21 and Madchild to name a few) is a testament to Joey’s work ethic, as rightfully demonstrated on the focus single ‘Where You From’ feat. OWLBB, which features sharp flows, catchy melodies and banging beats.

With plenty more music in the works to see out the rest of 2019 and being hard at work with 2 group projects (Jerkstore and 4Fins), Joey Maker is an artist you will want to keep your eye on, you can do so by keeping up to date via his socials below!
