Latrell James – Still

Latrell James is back and has just dropped off the new EP  ‘Still’- a self-written, self-engineered and self-produced body of excellence.

Following on from his first release of the year ‘Tracphone’ which was affectionately dubbed by Afropunk as ‘an intellectual banger’, James continued in the same vein with most recent track ‘One Call’. The single dives into the realism of mortality over a bouncy melody, encouraging listeners to check in on their friends in times of need. A strong work ethic, exceptional production skills and a genuine consideration for the growth of the Boston Hip Hop scene has made him one of the most respected artists in the game and James’ original, authentic sound as well as positive mentality shows solid signs of a promising future.

Speaking on the EP, Latrell States: ‘Still is about embracing stillness. With how much we spend on our phones and the internet we tend to miss everything that’s going on right in front of us. Still is being grateful but wanting more.”

There’s no doubt that Latrell James is one of the most naturally talented rappers in the game right now and this new EP is definitely one of the best we’ve heard this year.
