Meet Singer/Songwriter Keno Journey

Keno Journey is an aspiring singer/songwriter born in South Central Los Angeles. He brings back the classic R&B we all love. Keno Journey hits those sexy high notes to put you in the mood to have you reminiscing on an old flame. We all know it’s hard to make it as a reputable R&B artist and establish longevity in the business, but Keno Journey has it all, the voice and the style that the industry is ready for.

Keno Journey has a strong soulful voice such as Donnell Jones, with his own sex appeal leaving a piece of himself in every song.

The young singer has always been a performer and when in front of a crowd you know immediately from the reaction of the audience. Keno Journey has opened for artist as Eric Bellinger, Jacquees and a two-day tour opening for Ann Marie in Oakland and Los Angeles.

After releasing his EP “Himalayas” fall of 2018, Keno Journey continues his career as an independent artist.

KENO JOURNEY is currently working on releasing a 4 single EP, as well as working on “Himalayas II”.

His early 2019 single release LSO, is a smooth, melodic ride, one for the chill playlist:

The Hype Magazine got Keno to weigh in on a few things:

From the outside looking in, who is the artist Keno Journey?

Keno is an interesting guy. I won’t let anyone or anything stop me from getting to where I want to go. I’m such this natural born hustler it’s crazy. Ima go get it regardless of my situation. Everything I’ve been through, I use as motivation for me to go even harder than before. The letdowns & sold dreams that people have promised me I learned to capitalize from. I’m this self-made machine that waits on no one. It’s only a matter of time before I’m where I need to be.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

Well, see I’ve always been musically inclined since I was about 8 years old. My late grandfather was a guitarist so he got me into playing instruments in and out of the church. What brought me into the industry was the decision I made after hanging my cleats up from playing football my entire life. I was a big poetry writer, I tried to disguise my emotions with my pen so I then started to turn them into songs. Now I’m here.

What do you want people to get from your music?

I try my best to make my songs as relatable as possible. I speak from past & present experiences so that the picture that I’m trying to paint is realistic.

Tell us about your current project.

I describe my current project as one of my emotional phases of learning who I am and kind of what I’ve been through, in a nutshell. I talk about being homeless, where I’m from, being in & out of love and sexual attraction.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

For my new listeners, I would point them into the direction of my song called “Say My Name”. The reason being is that I address who I am & where I come from. Since most of the songs on the project are monotone, this record is more of an uptempo vibe that will easily keep your attention.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

Outside of music, I’m really passionate about my family. We’ve been through a lot so I just wanna make sure that my immediate is comfortable in whatever position they’re in. When I’m not doing music, You can catch me somewhere fishing. I’ve been fishing since I was about 5years old. If music wasn’t an option, I would be a professional fisherman.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

The last question too deep so Ima pass
