Dee-1 Is To Perform At The 2019 Black Music Honors

New Orleans rapper Dee-1 has been slated to perform at the 2019 Black Music Honors ceremony. He will be joining other celebrated artists, such as Keke Wyatt, Kelly Price, Tony Terry, Leon Timbo, 702, Le’Andria Johnson, MAJOR and many more. The show will be pre-recorded in front of a live audience at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center on September 5, 2019.

Dee-1 says, “My new album, God and Girls, has opened so many doors that were previously closed off to me. When real music connects with the fans, the sky is the limit. I’m living proof. Can’t wait to hit the stage at the Black Music Honors!”

Black Music Honors is an annual 2-hour television special established to honor legendary artists who have influenced and made a significant contribution to African American music. The fourth annual Black Music Honors will be hosted by LeToya Luckett and Rickey Smiley. Honored musicians include Freddie Jackson, Tamia, Yolanda Adams, Xscape and Arrested Development. The special will air via syndication from September 14 to October 20, 2019.

God and Girls is Dee-1’s first independent release since leaving RCA. The eleven-track album features collaborations with a diverse range of artists including PJ Morton, Ze11a, Christon Gray, Canon, Jonathan McReynolds and Denisia. God and Girls debuted at #10 on the Apple Music Charts.
