Famous Ocean & KungFu – Savage

Upbeat Trap-Hop rising stars, Famous Ocean and her sister KungFu, have released the official video for their highly anticipated single “Savage”, out now via innovative content platform Vydia. The single, which is currently featured on Spotify’s The Realest Down South and Hot Girl Summer playlists, follows the Atlanta rappers’ official video for the summer anthem, “Get Active”. “Get Active” has racked in over 2.1 million views since its release late last month.

The sisters got their start on social media at 15 years old, making freestyle videos that began to go viral. Their originality & flow caught the ear of a local Atlanta radio DJ named Ferrari who invited them to local radio station 94.5. Since, these high-school student rappers have received airplay and tons of support. Early this year, they signed to the Bu Vision Label, founded by former Def Jam Vice president of A&R, Bu Thiam.

When asked to describe her style, KungFu expressed, “I rap because I love it. It makes me have a good vibe and I love the vibes, can’t live with a bad vibe. I rap for fun and even though my original idol was Nicki Minaj, I don’t do the sexy, talk about my body type rap, there’s so much more for me to address like what’s trending, current events etc. I look at the world and express those thoughts musically. I’m always writing.”

Combining their love for rapping and understanding of building a fan base, the social media ingénues regularly entertain their existing fans and gain new followers by “Always keeping it fun”, publishing pranks and challenges on their Youtube channel.

In their spare time, the rising stars still make time to visit local middle and high schools and talk to students about how to have a winning mentality and follow their dreams to build the kind of life they want.
