Habstrakt Releases ‘The One’ on Monstercat, Including His First-Ever Music Video

Habstrakt is back on Monstercat with another high-energy, genre-blending club track “The One,” along with his first music video and Unlovable Remix. The new single is true to the French artist’s electro-infused house sound; it delivers a slowly burning bassline amid distorted feminine vocals and kick-drum driven toplines that build momentum for its intense drop, where mechanical synths take the lead. The video plays on “The One“‘s surreal, slightly ominous feeling, drawing viewers into a split reality between three people preparing for the most important moments of their lives and the pressure that lurks both inside their psyche and in the outside world. Unlovable Remix is a more melodic and breakbeat-infused take on the track, giving listeners a version to press play on no matter the situation. “The One” follows Habstrakt’s recent single “Lasagne,” also released on Monstercat, and “De la Street” on NGHTMRE & SLANDER’Gud Vibrations label.

“I’ve been holding onto this one for a while, worked and reworked it a thousand times, and I’m so excited to finally release it. The moment I heard these vocals from Pauline Herr, I knew something huge was going to happen!” – Habstrakt

Habstrakt began his journey into music as a guitar and keys player. In 2008 he discovered dubstep and drum & bass, which would be his first loves in the electronic sphere. Though his sound is continuously evolving, his instrumental training is evident in the French artist’s precise and yet malleable sound, which distinguishes itself through a sophisticated production style that still sounds raw and urban. 2019 is a great year for Habstrakt so far. With releases including “Infinite” (his debut on Monstercat), “Control” on Tchami’Confession, “All Night” on Tiësto’Musical Freedom and “Darkness” on Spinnin’ Records; with his new venture into video and more fresh music in the latter half of the year, Habstrakt shows no signs of slowing down.
