How Brugal 1888 Rum Is Celebrating National Rum Day & You Can Win A Home Makeover

Brugal 1888 Rum is known to be an extraordinary rum, as produced in the Dominican Republic. 1888 is first matured in hand-picked ex bourbon American oak casks, then in European oak, first-fill sherry casks. This unique blend of two usually-isolated worlds gives 1888 a complex yet smooth flavor profile.

For a limited time only, Brugal 1888 Rum is aiming to give everyday consumers the ultimate way to relax, unwind and sip 1888 Rum. How, you ask? Well, 1888 Rum is asking rum enthusiasts to elevate their living room furniture by adding a handwoven hammock from the Dominican Republic and subsequently kick back, relax and enter “vacation mode” in the comfort of their own homes.

One lucky winner will receive $1,888 and a handwoven, freestanding hammock, inspired by the netting that encases the 1888 Rum bottle, originally created to signify luxury. The wood frame made to resemble the bourbon and sherry casks used during 1888 Rum’s double-aging process has a lingering sherry scent that remains from the bespoke branding that is meticulously burned onto the surface. Of course, no vacation hammock is complete without a glass of rum, so — naturally — 1888 Rum’s hammock comes equipped with a fitted cupholder perfectly designed to hold a rocks glass.

Rum lovers can enter for a chance to win by following @BrugalUSA on Instagram and commenting on the National Rum Day post with which type of 1888 Rum cocktail they would like to enjoy in said hammock, while also tagging the person they would want to drink the 1888 Rum-infused cocktail with. Further information about this contest can be found online at www.1888rum.com.
