The freshly independent singer/songwriter reveals that he found much of his inspiration for the new album from some of his favorite blockbuster films. His latest single “Die Hard” was inspired by the 1988 classic movie starring Bruce Willis. The film’s present theme of ‘How far will you go far love’ combined with ‘battles of balancing masculinity’ flow through the record. Similarly, his first record release from the project “Save Me” was pulled from themes from Spike Lee’s ‘Mo Beta Blues.’

“The movie ‘Die Hard’ was playing in the background at the studio while I was writing one day,” expressed Marc. “At this same time, quitting a couple bad habits had been weighing heavily on my mind and the idea just really developed from there!”

After being fully integrated into the major system and signed to Republic, even before releasing his debut album ‘Gossip Columns’, Bassy made the decision to take back control and create his own destiny. His journey to self-discovery lead to the development of New Gold Medal, an independent label founded by Bassy and his team. With their advantage of obtaining valuable knowledge from having learned from past experiences navigating the major label system, the New Gold Medal team has a great understanding of what is needed to succeed.

The name New Gold Medal was coined by partner Count Bassy and is inspired by the new way the music industry is portrayed, it’s not about your bottom line and who has the biggest cars and jewelry anymore, but instead, it’s about who is inspiring and who is wearing their heart and soul on their sleeve in a way that shows skill and commitment.

On June 12, Bassy hit the road with Jon Bellion on an extensive 35-city North American amphitheater tour, titled The Glory Sound Prep Tour.
