Pell, Ambré & Malik Ninety Five Take Us Home to NOLA in new Music Video “Skyfall”

Following the release of his critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Gravity’, Pell continues to celebrate his New Orleans roots with his latest visual release for the project’s lead single “Skyfall”, out now via Payday Records, featuring fellow NOLA-bred artists Ambré and Malik Ninety Five.

“Skyfall” is an ode to Pell’s hometown. In the new visual, Ambré, Malik and Pell take us back home to NOLA where we’re welcomed into Pell’s childhood home. He honors his day-ones with a lo-fi, homemade VHS video aesthetic. The video’s simplicity reflects the type of organic authenticity and diversity the NOLA community has to offer.

Skyfall is a song that really explains what it’s like to miss home but still feel the love. I felt a familiar energy when in the studio with Ambré and Malik recording this record. We had a beautiful template laid out in the form of the Faux Delorean instrumental,” Pell explains. It’s a big deal to be on a track with two of my favorites, let alone the leaders of the younger generation of New Orleans music in my opinion. The video exemplifies how we can hold each other down even when we are absent. That’s why we all are singing Ambré’s vocals throughout the video, she couldn’t make it but we held it down and her energy was still felt.”

Drawing inspiration from two of his previous project covers, ‘Gravity’ proves an inevitable gravitational return to Pell’s New Orleans roots; his new album serves as the final installment of his trio series of releases including his previous projects ‘Floating While Dreaming’ mixtape (2014) and ‘LIMBO’ EP (2015). Pell describes his album as his journey to self-discovery and his exponential growth as a human since his last musical release. The project is used as a therapeutic outlet, displaying a significantly vulnerable and authentic side of Pell.

Pell linked with NGHTMRE for Magic Hour’ EP, releasing through Mad Decent in June 2018. Co-produced by Pell, “Hear Me,” was featured on Madden 19’s soundtrack. Rounding out 2018, Pell was featured on XXL’s What I Do, where the artist was praised for his skillful freestyle, along with accompanying Doja Cat on her Amala Tour. Recently, Pell shared the stage with Brasstracks on their Vibrant Spring Tour alongside Kemba and was featured on their recent track “Vibrant” from their latest project. He also recently linked with Great Good Fine Ok for their latest single “Terrified”.
