BlumBros and MAKJ Serve Up Rumbling Street Swag With New Track ‘Ur Wifey’

Philadelphia brothers and rap artists, Raphael and Cartier Perkins of BlumBros and DJ and producer MAKJ have cooked up another slice of fun with heavy new hip hop tune Ur Wifey dropping on September 6th. The new track which has a music video accompanying it, marks the third release from BlumBros’ forthcoming debut EP Thank Da Jects which contains nothing other than intoxicating bass, fresh flow and dynamic rhymes.

A catchy tune featuring BlumBros slick freestyles to a funky instrumental, Ur Wifey is influenced by their versatile sound that radiates positivity and good vibes and guarantees to make listeners bust a couple of moves. As translated through the music video, Ur Wifey is set at a house party filled with plenty of laughs, dancing and the brothers turning up with red cups in hand.

Following a hard-knock upbringing in the Blumberg projects of North Philadelphia, resulting in their family of 11 children being split apart and put in to foster care, Raphy and Carty reunited over a decade later as teenagers. After bonding over their love for music, the brothers’ creative flow soon landed them a record deal with Payday Records.

Despite their newly acquired life and status as rappers, Raphy and Carty have not shied away from their ‘far from normal’ upbringing. They’ve instead used their music to give kids in foster care hope with their five-piece EP Thank Da Jects which has been entirely produced by MAKJ, to pay homage to the place where they grew up.

Starting off a race car driver, whilst studying in the Far East, MAKJ became a DJ after dabbling with decks and hasn’t looked back since.  Building a name for himself, MAKJ has amassed an impressive roster of support from the likes of Afrojack, Chuckie, Avicii, Nicky Romero and David Guetta following the breakthrough release of Countdown with Hardwell back in 2013. With his growing list of hits over recent years including Let’s Get Fucked Up with Lil Jon and Party Till We Die with Timmy Trumpet, MAKJ’s abilities to seamlessly collide the worlds of dance and rap are second to none, with Ur Wifey being a testament to exactly that.

BlumBros X MAKJUr Wifey is out now via Payday Records.
