Iamtheliving Drops Soulful, Funky Track Titled “It’s In All Of Us” Talks Difference from Past Work

iamtheliving hails from South East London, UK but currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. Vancouver, BC is where iamtheliving believes he truly found himself as an artist – motivated and inspired by the lifestyle of the west coast; being surrounded by incredible nature and having the privilege to breath fresh air every day; seeing how the power of music can connect with people from all walks of life; and encouraging others to have a positive mindset and strive for overall well-being.

He recently released a soulful, funky track titled “It’s In All Of Us” about love’s ability to bring both joy and pain. Listen to the new track and read our interview with him below!

What makes It’s In All Of Us; different from your past work?

For me, ‘it’s in all of us’ feels more authentic than anything I’ve ever created in the past; from the instrumentation, to the lyrical content. This song really inspired me to dig deeper into myself as a vocalist and as a vessel. In the mind of the listener, I really wanted to try and paint a clear picture of what is was this specific family went through, and how so many of us – no matter who you are or where you come from – share similar emotions in a time of losing someone close to us.

Can you describe the concept behind the making of the video?
We are currently working on something special for the visuals to compliment the song. I don’t want to give too much away, but just know that the ideas we have are exciting!

How would you describe your artistic evolution throughout your career?
It has been a natural progression. A lot of growth throughout the years; something I have always welcomed with open arms. I never shy away from finding new and
interesting ways to express myself artistically; whether it be a different soundscape of production or new ways to share stories about myself and/or others. I feel that as we move
throughout life we need to allow ourselves to evolve and grow. Evolution is in all of us (no pun intended!). However, you have to allow it to take its course and to not be afraid of
discovering something new. I’ve embraced my artistic evolution, along with my mental and spiritual evolution.

What’s been the biggest change in your life over the past year?

The biggest change for me has been moving to the other side of the world, leaving my close friends and family behind, to pursue my goals and dreams.

What song by another artist do you wish you had written?
There’s an artist that many people haven’t heard of, his name is Rich King. He released an EP 7 years ago called Meridian Desert – in my opinion it’s one of the best undiscovered EP’s out there. On this EP he has a song called ‘Freedom,’ I really wish I had written that song.
