Jamaican singer Lonney Love releases Waiting 4 U

The Jamaican born, Caymanian singer-songwriter is releasing his first-ever solo EP, heralded by the passionate new single Waiting 4 U. It’s a track that demonstrates vast vocal skill and ability to write a shamelessly infectious pop ballad.  Love’s music strikes a fine balance of modern, energetic beats merge with soulful, evocative lyrics. He brings them to life through his sleek vocal delivery, creating a style that’s lush yet intimate.

Love’s melodies capture emotions in a visceral way that words alone are incapable of; this is poetry, elevated. His emotionally charged style evolved from being brought up in the heart of a musically driven family. His mum and uncle, both avid singers, introduced him to the power of Soul music, and Love embraced the feeling of this genre as he went on to establish his own unique sound—a sound that eventually landed him opportunities to share the stage with internationally renowned artists like Pitbull, Becky G and Damien Marley.

As the first single from his upcoming EP, Waiting 4 U solidifies Lonney Love as an ambitious, sophisticated storyteller, it also serves to highlight his growth as an artist, showcasing a completely different facet of his talent than his earlier dance hall flavoured release, First Whine. Love has worked hard to construct an honest and romantic effort that invites the listener to immerse themselves into a vocal-driven tale of hopeful love.

Speaking to his inspiration for the track, Love says: “I believe that no matter the individual, we all understand that feeling of waiting and wishing for something. To me, true love is one of the greatest gifts to receive, especially when you feel like you’ve been waiting what seems like forever. The concept of this song came to me when I met my wife but has since evolved to mean so much more as we create our family and experience the ups and downs of life and its many journeys.”
