Jank Setup Releases Dynamic Single ‘Can’t I?’

Jank Setup is an innovative group that looks to embrace chaos and disorder with colourful musical reimagination. The group formed in their home town, New Orleans, in 2017 and quickly built a reputation as requested entertainment for the wildest house parties in town. Can’t I marks their second single, a release that perfectly encapsulates this raw energy by utilising raucous percussion, traditional backing vocals and their trademark, extravagant brass breakdowns.

Since their inception, Jank Setup have sold out an impressive run of shows – all thanks to their enthusiastic live performance. The five members boast powerful vocal lines amidst addictive grooves and intricate instrumentals. Notably this year, Jank Setup’s loyal following led to selling out the legendary Tipitina venue in New Orleans. The group also celebrate the release of their first single: In Motion. The vibrant, vocal-heavy extravaganza amassed over 230k streams on Spotify alone.

As the second effort from these New Orlean’s Natives, Can’t I, is another recreation of the infectious atmosphere that’s generated whilst watching Jank Setup live. The single tackles modern vulnerability within the complicated dating world. The narrative comes brimming with an assortment of sophisticated brass, exhilarating percussion and confident vocal delivery. Jank Setup have officially transcended a deliciously unpredictable live set into both of their bold releases so far.

Jank Setup says: “Can’t I comments on the insecurity and toxicity of hookup culture. The song tells a story of someone who knows that they’re being taken advantage of, but can’t stop chasing empty love.”
