Just Charlii unveils confident official video for ‘Take Note’

Fresh from releasing her new EP, London-based singer-songwriter Just Charlii has launched the official video for her latest single ‘Take Note’, out 20th September.

The self-assured visuals show Charlii swaggering through the streets of London at night, addressing the camera as she effortlessly sings along to the track. With lyrics alluding to her development as both an artist and a human being, the video for ‘Take Note’ delivers an ideal visual representation of this newfound confidence.

“I wrote ‘Take Note’ when I was really struggling with my identity,” Charlii previously explained. “I feel like today it’s very easy to get caught up with what’s online/ who’s online/ what they’re posting. Naturally we compare ourselves to what’s being put out. We also pay a lot of attention to what people think of us as people or our appearance. Which leads to us adapting our ways to please people we don’t even know. The main reason behind this song was to express its okay to pay attention but just not to let it become you.. only to Take Note.”

An exciting collection of modern R&B tracks, Charlii dropped the seven-track ‘Phoenix’ EP earlier this month. Named after Charlii’s rebirth, the title captures the true essence of this coming-of-age release.

Releasing music since 2016, previous singles and EPs have drawn praise from respected journalists and music publications alike, whilst garnering support from the BBC Introducing platform.
