Puddle Of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin On New Album “Welcome To Galvania” & Life On The Road

Formed in 1991, Puddle Of Mudd has sold over seven million albums and has had a string of number-one singles, including the hits “Blurry,” “She Hates Me,” and “Famous.” Earlier this month, Puddle Of Mudd released its sixth studio album entitled Welcome To Galvania. Produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Disturbed, Motorhead), Welcome To Galvania also happens to be the group’s first full-length effort in a decade, a proper follow-up to 2009’s Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love & Hate.
Release by Pavement Entertainment, Puddle Of Mudd’s new material is primed to reach both longtime and new fans. As noted by frontman Wes Scantlin in the album’s press release: “Sometimes in life you come across people who want to bring you down and rip apart your soul. Well, those days are gone.” Continued Scantlin within that same prepared statement: “I have surrounded myself with a great team of people. They believe in me and I believe in them. I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and perseverance. I’d also like to thank all of my fans for their patience. This is just the beginning. I have a lot more rock ‘n’ roll in me to share with the world!”
I spoke with Wes Scantlin himself by phone on September 20, 2019, and embedded below are edited highlights from our conversation. More on all things Wes Scantlin and his Puddle Of Mudd bandmates can be found online by visiting the group’s official website at www.puddleofmudd.com.
