‘What You Telling Me (WYTM)’ is UK rapper Dubzy’s Powerful Return to the Music Scene

“What You Telling Me (WYTM)” is the brand new single from London artist Dubzy. Having been hailed as Redbull’s Grime-a-Side champion, this is a powerful return from the rapper who is ready to make his mark on the scene.

Dubzy has been evolving his sound and combined his unique ability to depict his London lifestyle through his lyrics over a more universal sounding production, which will help him gain the ears of fans across the pond whilst still sticking to his London roots.

Dubzy, aka Jesse James, stated “I am excited to be back and releasing new music that marks a new era for me as an artist and as a person. I have been working on a few ideas for a while and feel that “WYTM” is the perfect way to introduce myself to the world.”

“The phrase ‘What You Telling Me’ means what can you say that can affect me? I know who I am and where I am headed. It’s about self-empowerment and the video supports that too. It shows me in different settings that represent aspects of my life. If you haven’t seen me before, this is the perfect way to welcome you to the show!”, Dubzy concluded.

The video follows Dubzy across London, showing different aspects of his life, from being with friends and loved ones to presenting a political message. He is making it very clear that he is not scared to speak up and cause a stir if needed.

“WYTM” is a direct question and invitation from the artist to his fans to catch up and join him in the next step of his journey. Most recently, Dubzy has performed at this year’s NASS festival and has just done a PA with Sir Spyro at Rinse FM. He is planning on releasing more live dates in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

About Dubzy

Born in London and raised in between Tottenham and Derby, Dubzy is an emerging artist who is bridging the gap between Grime, Hip-Hop and Trap. It’s this combination of genres which see him standout from the competition amongst his peers in the UK and as one of the most promising talents out right now.

Dubzy built and grew his name in the “School of Grime” and has performed with some of the most prominent names in the industry including “Boy Better Know” which has helped him attain a strong work ethic. Seeing his peers excel in the industry has just spurred him on and made him develop his craft and as a result is set to release his debut EP ‘Snazz’ later this year which is sure to make waves in the scene.

Recently he has evolved his sound and combined his grimey bars which represent the sound of London with more melodic undertones over trap like beats which is similar to that of Tory Lanez and Bryson Tiller, which has helped him reach new audiences abroad. However, in no way is he compromising his authentic, original sound which reflects his upbringing and lifestyle in the capital of London.
