BlumBros Team Up With Producer MAKJ For ‘Thank Da Jects’ EP Debut

Rising north Philly hip-hop duo BlumBros have joined forces with DJ and producer MAKJ for their five-piece EP Thank Da Jects. Making plenty of waves, the EP’s first track LS6 has already landed a spot in Need For Speed soundtrack, out November 8th, while love from Vice, Magnetic Mag and Hypebeast commending them for “putting Philly on the map” reasserts the brothers path to a prolific future.

Hailing from the Blumberg projects in North Philapdelphia, the brotherly duo’s upbringing saw them, and their siblings move to separate foster care homes, with Raphy and Carty reuniting over a decade later as teenagers. After bonding over their love for music, the brothers’ creative flow soon landed them a record deal with Payday Records.

Despite their newly acquired life and status as rappers, Raphy and Carty have not shied away from their ‘far from normal’ upbringing. They’ve instead used their music to inspire kids in foster care homes to go after their dreams while simultaneously paying homage to the area they came from.

Armed with refreshingly confident sass, this unpredictable trio of music enthusiasts haven’t left a stone unturned to ensure their brilliance shines through in Thank Da Jects. Set up against MAKJ’s speeding race car signature, the EP takes listeners through the brotherly duo’s charming humour and versatile sound. Infused with catchy lines in LS6, heartfelt rhymes in Love Me, funky instrumentals in Ur Wifey, a slicker than your average production in Move which sees the brothers relentlessly deliver their lines over the pounding beat, the EP closes out with the tempo amped all the way up in The Trap.

Uniting with California born race car driver turned DJ and producer, MAKJ whose growing list of hits such as Let’s Get Fucked Up with Lil Jon and Party Till We Die with Timmy Trumpet displays his seamless ability to collide the worlds of dance and rap. It’s no wonder that his impressive roster of support includes Afrojack, Chuckie, Avicii, Nicky Romero, David Guetta and more.

BlumBros X MAKJ – Thank Da Jects EP is out now via Payday Records.
