Meet the Amazing Supa Peach
Back story – At the tender age of 16, Supa Peach, an Atlanta rapper, singer and viral YouTube personality, has no doubt she will become one of the nation’s biggest stars in music and entertainment. After all, she had videos surpassing one million views by the age of nine – and a few years later she was the first artist sought out and invited to join the cast of Jermaine Dupri’s Lifetime TV series “The Rap Game” in 2016.
Now, she is preparing to take her millions (yes, millions) of social media followers with her for the next phase of her journey, starting with the release of her latest single Cartier Vision. The song signifies her maturation from a kid star to a growing young woman eyeing what she considers her inevitable destiny…Stardom.
When listening to Supa Peach rap, it is clear that she is no ordinary teen artist. Her style, charisma and wordplay sticks out immediately and attracts young and mature audiences – girls to boys and women to men. Standing at only five feet tall, she appears far bigger, with a loud and commanding presence on the mic as well as on her popular social media channels.
The Hype Magazine Got Supa Peach to weigh in on a few things
What’s up everybody! Yes, I’m Supa Peach, an international recording artist of Caribbean & Hispanic descent. I’m 16 years old and I blew up from my music videos on YouTube that have reached millions of views. You may have also seen me on the show ‘The Rap Game’ with Jermaine Dupri, where I competed with other young rappers. For those just getting to know who I am, you will see that I am a high energy entertainer and I put my all into my music. I’m looking forward to sharing it and building a relationship with the Hype Magazine community!
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
I have just always loved music and entertaining since I was little. Growing up, my family would play music around the house and I would listen to artists like 2 Pac and pay attention to how they painted a picture for people. They bring out all of these emotions and you can really feel their music. Hip-Hop & R&B is really what I grew up on. So, I wanted to be just like that. I’ve been doing this for about seven years – touring the country & competing.
I love performing and receiving that energy from the crowd. Music is like my drug. It helps me to express myself and to cope with things that are going on in my life. It’s also my way out. I know that entertaining is my gift, so I am going to go hard and create a great life for myself.
What do you want people to get from your music?
I want to give the people a vibe that they can’t get no where else. I have a very distinctive voice it’s like no other. A great song creates emotions and leaves an impact on the listener. I want my supporters to be able to relate to me and my music. I make music to make people feel good .
Tell us about your current project and where it stands for you in the grand scheme
Well, I have two singles out right now. My main single is “Cartier Vision” this song is a youthful vibe with that Atlanta sound. My second single “No Target” featuring Project Youngin’ is vibe with a feature. I wanted to showcase my skills on a track with a male artist & really show my growth as an artist. I am only 16, but with these two songs you can see a difference between how I am now and some of my older songs. In the grand scheme, these are the ones that are going to help me to get that respect in the music industry. There is no one my age doing it like I am doing it and I plan to take it all the way to the top!
Besides your own music, what’s on your playlist for 2019?
Definitely Da Baby, Chris Brown, Drake, Cardi B Meek Mill , Taylor Swift, Jhené Aiko, & Bruno Mars. They all have their own sound, but they all have that star quality and I see a little bit of myself in all of them. Da Baby is hardworking and entertaining. Chris Brown is hardworking and he can do it all. Drake is a talented vibe that can do no wrong. Cardi B is just so real and she knows how to make a hit. I love how she showed the world that you can be yourself and still pop. Meek Mill just brings that energy and passion in every song, and Bruno Mars makes good music that is long-lasting. So, that’s my main playlist.
Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…
I’m really an outdoors person. I’m adventurous and I like stuff that’s out of the box and fun. I ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers and I have a company where I sell them. I like to be active. I play soccer and I box. Sometimes my family has to stay on top of me to make sure I don’t do nothing too crazy where I break a bone or mess up my face because I am a brand. They keep me balanced. But, overall, I would say that I like fashion and being pretty, but I like to live on the edge too.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment in your career thus far?
I was booked for a show . I received my deposit before hand and was in contract to receive my balance of the money upon arrival. My driver pulls up to the event. I get out the sprinter to head to my dressing room. They later come to my room to bring me to the stage without my back end money. Then goes on to say they will have to pay me once they count the money they made from the door because they are short on my money. Oh no! No money I don’t hit the stage. There’s a contract in place for Janky promoters… I’m not risking performing and they coming up short on my balance. Stop the games….! Where they do that at? Where they do that at!?
