Splice Records Announces 11Th Annual Bowielvis Fest Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 At The Continental Club In Houston; Tickets On Sale Now

Splice Records announces the 11th annual fest celebrating two of history’s most influential and famous Capricorns; tickets on sale today and music lineup to be announced

 

Houston-based independent record label Splice Records announces their 11th Annual Bowie Elvis Fest on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 from 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. at The Continental Club and Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge, located at 3700 Main St., Houston, Texas 77002. The annual fest honors the Jan. 8 birthdays of David Bowie and Elvis, two of the most beloved and influential artists of the previous century. The fest will feature eight bands on two stages, an appearance by Houston’s heralded burlesque troupe Dem Damn Dames, an outdoor party hosted by DJ Chaney and commentary by Master of Ceremonies Mills McCoin. The evening’s music lineup will be announced on Nov. 25, 2019. The event will also feature face painting, Elvis / Bowie themed games, a costume contest, prizes, food concessions provided by chef Lindsey Fuquen with Kitch Catering and a lot of nostalgic moments. “Every year this event produces a party that draws fans from every era,” said Splice Records CEO Shaun Brennan. “We love to see many generations dancing, drinking and partying together at BowiElvis Fest. We are doing our best to keep the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll alive with this annual festival!”

The brainchild of Hank Schyma (of local band Southern Backtones fame), who commemorated Elvis’ birthday at Avante Garden each year, Bowie Elvis Fest officially started in 2010 with an inaugural event at the infamous local venue.
