Buwa Releases His Debut EP ‘Olu’

After the success of the resounding pop-soul and retro swing lead single ‘Want Me’,  the talented Canadian-based Nigerian singer, songwriter and poet Buwa is introducing himself with excellent vocal performance and infectious melodies on the 6-track debut EP ‘Olu’.

It is packed with pop, soul and big band gems such as the boisterous opening number ‘The Show’ that paints the picture of Buwa performing in a stadium, followed by the electrifying ballad ‘Circles’ and the Afro-fusion R&B homage to his mother ‘Dance With Me’. The story of goes on ‘Eminlo’ as Buwa is finally able to release himself of an unhealthy relationship and the EP closes with ‘Resist’ as the singer appreciates the eternal love that God has for him.

The Olu EP was co-written with revered Nigerian-based producer SizzlePRO, and it sees Buwa showcasing his captivating songwriting, held together excellently by his fun and playful performance.

On the inspiration behind the record, Buwa says, “Olu, which means King in the Itsekiri language, is about me finally being confident to be able to express myself the way I want to. ‘Olu’ is about me coming into my own. The songs are also focused around my journey into becoming who I am today, giving a glimpse into some of the things that have happened to me over the two years that it took my producer SizzlePRO and I to create the record”.
