Hazy Wants Us to Know ‘What’s Next’

Maryland based recording artist Hazy recently debuted a new chapter in his life with his latest project titled “What’s Next?” Composed of seven tracks, the EP serves to bridge the gap between Hazy and his listeners with this one particular question, “What’s Next?”

According to Hazy, “recently graduating from college and getting a new job in my career field, the particular question not pops up in my head but is presented from me from almost everybody.” “To answer all questions and to give me a piece of mind, I curated this EP.”

Asides from the EP. Hazy has also been busy working with Washington D.C. metropolitan socialite Breonte Hackley (Tae Sweizy) on community events meant to connect the area and to give back to the youth.

The Hype Magazine got Hazy to weigh in on a few things

From the outside looking in, who is Hazy?

Hazy is a culture connoisseur. He has a true love for his people and only hopes to inspire & entertain for years to come. He is real, down to earth and relatable. Surely he is one who believes in social interaction to better understand people. His musical sound can be best described as having lyricism and soul, bars and harmony, charisma and melody.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

Growing up my grandfather was a DJ so I was constantly around music that seemed to be always soulful and vivid. He would also play a lot of hip hop which grabbed my attention off the back. Ever since then I’ve just been dedicated to trying to blur the lines between rap, soul, & R&B.

What do you want people to get from your music?

Through my love for the arts I want my music to connect with people through realism , emotion , style and shared experiences. I just want to give the people something to vibe to while also finding a deep connection.

Tell us about your current project.

My EP ‘What’s Next?’ is my new body of work that symbolizes that golden question that everyone must ask themselves at some point during life. While others face the pressures from the world asking that of them as well. The track list for this project is structured as questions that needed answering. I strategically breakdown my life and thoughts through each track, that flows in a way that takes you on a journey. ‘What’s Next?’ represents progression and optimism, while serving as a wake up call for my music.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

This is a hard question , and I wish I didn’t only have to pick one but I would have to choose ‘Whats Next?’, which was the single (intro) from the new project, which explains for the name similarity.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

Outside of music, I’m always appreciative of being able to work in the community and connect with people of all ages, races, and gender. I also enjoy good vibes with good people that carry positive and authentic energy.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

I would have to say a notable WTF moment has to be when Years ago this group of girls invited me and my cousins to go skinny dipping with them one on one during a vacation. Which we agreed to do, then we later that night got in trouble for actually sneaking out the house and crossing town to make that happen. What’s crazy about the whole plan is that once we got there and she introduced her last friend to us I ended up being stuck with the less attractive friend. So my guys are doing them, meanwhile I’m just trying to have normal conversation with the girl that I was with. All in all, I believe I shouldn’t have got in trouble at the end of the night, I didn’t even enjoy myself.
