Jay Whiss Drops Video For “Valet”

Toronto rapper Jay Whiss (Prime Boys) has dropped his new single “Valet” featuring Puffy L’z today via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Produced by Multi-Platinum producers Murda Beatz (Drake, Nicki Minaj, Quavo) and Cubeatz (Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Travis Scott), “Valet” is the first single from Jay Whiss’s debut album due out early next year.

On the creation of “Valet”, Jay Whiss notes, “It was a beat of Murda’s I had been sitting on for about a year, I was just waiting for it to speak to me when I played it in the studio. I recorded the hook and realized it had the perfect bop for Puffy L’z sound. Me and him have a relationship beyond music so we just linked up at our boy Amir Jamm’s studio.” “Valet” is the first new music from Jay Whiss since the release of his solo EP Dark Cloud, a collection of three deeply personal songs. A therapeutic project that channeled his pain, Dark Cloud featured some of Whiss’s most powerful lyrics to date. With today’s release of “Valet,” it’s clear Whiss has conquered the darkness by harnessing his artistic drive and doing what he does best – writing, recording and collaborating in the studio with his tight crew of Toronto producers and artists. Whiss’s signature rap flow and authentic rhymes, alongside Puffy L’z tight bars and Murda’s swagger-heavy beat, make “Valet” a must-hear club banger.

On his upcoming debut album, Whiss keeps his collaborations in the family with close friends including Murda Beatz, Jimmy Prime, Donnie, 1mind, and Pro Logic contributing features and production. After months of being steady in the studio, Jay Whiss is eager to share his first solo album and to bring the Esplanade rap scene to the world.
