Monster Energy Up & Up College Festival Series Announces Spring 2020 Headliner: TroyBoi

The Monster Energy Up & Up College Festival Series is announcing international DJ/producer TroyBoi as their Spring 2020 headliner. Student ambassadors representing over 60 U.S. colleges will lead over-the-top campus marketing campaigns in the next few months to rally their school to order the most pre-sales in 48-hours starting Feb 11^th, 2020 at 4 p.m. EST. In October, TroyBoi was announced as the headliner for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, a platform that showcases the biggest new names in the music world in the midst of their breakthrough moment. Since its inception in 2016, the Monster Energy Up & Up College Festival Series is one of the fastest-growing music properties in college communities across the U.S. Their competition pits colleges against each other in a 48-hour campaign to generate the most ticket pre-sales for a concert with no date or location. Student ambassadors at each participating school build teams and brainstorm ingenious ways to rally their student bodies to pre-order reasonably priced tickets using an innovative ticket sales concept in which purchasers’ cards are only charged should their school win. Past headliners include Cash Cash (2016), Alan Walker (2017), GRYFFIN (2018), and Two Friends (2018), Slushii (2019) and Elephante (2019).

“The Monster Energy Up & Up has changed my college experience for the better and I am so grateful!! Such a great way to get real-world experience,” says Jesse Merrill, a senior at UNC Wilmington, who’s also a two-time winner and competing again this spring.

This renegade brand of competition is an effective way to unite a student body, encourage student leadership, and provide hands-on experience through all aspects of music event production. Winning teams get creative and put forth a relentless effort with their marketing campaigns from GroupMe’s, Monster Energy drink samplings, building local Instagram pages, engaging Greek Life, and influencer video shoots to signage and chalking all over popular spots around campus.

Winners for past competitions include San Jose, UT Austin, University of Dayton, Lehigh, Bryant, UC Davis, Penn State, UNCW, JMU, Miami-Ohio, Iowa, Alabama, UC Santa Barbara, Washington State, and Wake Forest Universities.

The Monster Energy Up & Up College Festival Series will reveal the competing colleges on January 30^th and the 48-hour pre-sale competition will go live on February 11^th. The Up & Up Festivals for this spring’s winning campuses featuring TroyBoi will take place in April and May.
