Testament’s Chuck Billy On His “The Chief” Line Via Lord Vaper Pens, Touring With Slayer & More

In early 2015, iconic Testament vocalist Chuck Billy introduced his Signature Herbal Vaporizer pen, “The Chief,” through the Alameda, California-based Lord Vaper Pens. In a time when most herbal smoking products and accessories were being marketed towards urban and hip-hop audiences, Billy wanted to release a pen that hard rockers and metalheads alike could call their own. Last year Chuck Billy and Lord Vaper Pens unveiled two expanded, collaborative collections, “The Chief” Signature Series — which includes a pipe (“Tomahawk”), an Oil Cartridge Battery (“Dream Catcher”) and a 2-in-1 Vaporizer (“War Drum”) — and the music-themed “The Chief of Thrash!” merchandise line.

Late last year I had the pleasure of speaking with Chuck Billy about “The Chief” and plenty more by phone. While this interview was slated to run on an episode of the Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz podcast, a number of obstacles routinely got in the way with other interviews needing to run first. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to write The Chief on several occasions for The Hype Magazine between then and now, including my feature on Jonny Z, a 2018 gift guide and a 2019 gift guide.

Chuck Billy had a busy 2019 with Testament, and 2020 looks to be just as busy with Testament taking part in the Bay Strikes Back Tour. Tour dates and more related to Billy and crew can be found online at www.testamentlegions.com, while more on “The Chief” line is at www.lordvaperpens.com.
