Multicultural Pop Artist Renay Releases Stunning Choreographed Video

San Francisco-based pop songstress Renay has released the music video for her brand new single, “Inspire Me,” a track that delves into the relationship between muse and artist. The accompanying visuals accurately reflect the song’s abstract theme while also playing off of its danceable, pulsating instrumental.

Co-produced by BTWN Productions, “Inspire Me” features elegant, fiery synths over a bed of somber bass and propulsive drums, forming a powerful electropop instrumental that supports Renay’s dynamic singing. Renay describes the lyrics as a meditation on inspiration, how it can “paradoxically propel you to create, but also devour you if it turns into obsession,” likening the two extremes to life and death. The prolific songwriter continues to encourage her listeners to think about these deeper subjects while maintaining a catchy, danceable sound. The music video is equally contemplative and textured yet animated, fusing intricate choreography with stunning costume and set design.

Renay’s first memories are of her singing, incorporating her Dutch/Bolivian background into her melodies as she was already writing songs on guitar by age twelve. Before committing to music full-time, she pursued academic work across the globe, wanting to help reduce social inequalities she was exposed to growing up. These experiences served to encourage her culturally rich, bilingual repertoire crossing Latin, electronic music, reggae and even alternative rock. Getting increasingly involved in the production side of music as well, Renay was eventually recruited by Cre-8 Music Academy’s Music for Commerce production program in West Hollywood. Honing her musical skills to focus on pop songwriting, she has since released a myriad of impressive singles and won the John Lennon Songwriting grand prize in the ‘World’ category.

“Inspire Me” is the latest addition to Renay’s genre-merging catalog, combining pristine production with catchy songwriting, contemplative lyrics and pleasantly elastic vocals. The rising singer/songwriter/producer will be expanding on this unique combination in her stunning debut album, “Pure Love,” set for release later this year.
