Red Light Management Announces Hit Command, A New Innovative Gaming Company Bridging The Gap Between Gaming, Brands, and Music

Red Light Management, an independent music management firm representing artists across all genres including Dave Matthews Band, Lionel Ritchie, Luke Bryan, Odesza, Bassnectar and many more, announced today the formation of Hit Command, a new gaming company focused on developing curated experiences, intellectual property and broader partnership opportunities for artists, brands and content creators who wish to tap into the booming global gaming economy.

Hit Command leverages some of the world’s most famous artists and brands, entering the gaming market. Data indicates the video game market is worth over $43.8BN (compared to the $28.8BN figure tied to TV & film streaming). In the U.S. alone, research estimates that about 67% of Americans, or roughly 211MM people, play video games on at least one device, with more than half of those gaming on multiple platforms.

Red Light Management’s new standalone Hit Command subsidiary will help position a diverse roster of artists and brands, offering gamers both live and unprecedented access in hopes of converting them into potential new music fans and consumers. Through Hit Command, users are able to engage and interact with their favorite artists and brands at the most iconic and tent pole live events in the entertainment industry.

“There has never been a better time for artists or brands to get into the gaming ecosystem,” says William Morris, Co-Founder and CEO of Hit Command. “Not only is the user base in gaming growing at an exponential pace here in the U.S. but globally [other] territories like Asia, which has invested heavily in its telecom and wireless infrastructure, are allowing more people outside of the major metropolitan hubs to connect into the gaming ecosystem.”

With predictions that U.S. advertisers will spend $3.25BN on ads within video games on mobile, desktop or console platforms, a 16% increase from 2018, Hit Command is uniquely positioned to help clients tap into advertising dollars within the global gaming ecosystem. Hit Command is accessing leading global event agencies involved in organizing major events and festivals around the world – promising to deliver unparalleled consumption opportunities for entertainment fans and gamers worldwide through Hit Command. Hit Command will also be launching a Twitch Channel to showcase new music from the artists they represent, hosting listening parties and more – “Thanks to the interactivity of chat, listening to music on Twitch is like attending a concert virtually where you can also talk directly with your favorite artists,” said Pat Shah, Head of Music Strategy & Licensing at Twitch. “This makes Twitch the perfect place for HIT COMMAND to curate and showcase new music, host listening parties, and not only aid in discovery, but also build a community of fans.”

Branding and design studio EAT created the Hit Command name and brand identity followed by branded graphic materials such as a landing page, social media graphics and presentation deck. Recognized as the first high-end design studio within the gaming industry, EAT’s clients include Twitch, Amazon, Red Bull, Blizzard / Activision, EA Games, and many more. Moving into 2020, Hit Command will expand their reach into the gaming world through a partnership with G FUEL, the official energy drink of Esports.

“There is a massive opportunity for our artist and brand clients to create unique IP within the gaming community that could not only generate great returns financially but expose their music or brand to a whole new global audience,” says Steve Satterthwaite, Partner at Red Light Management and head of the company’s electronic division. “With the combination of global growth and engagement around gaming, our company will be uniquely positioned to help any level of acts or brands tap into one of the most exciting areas of entertainment and media consumption for the foreseeable future. Partnering with Will Morris, whose expertise in the Gaming space has made this journey brighter and swifter for us. We’re looking forward to supporting Will’s vision and expertise in this exciting space.”
