His newest single ‘They Know’, which dropped February 7th, was filmed by director of the stars Tanj Film. Film has directed music videos for well known artist such as Cassanova, Dave East and more!

Surviving one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S, Cash Gotti is ready to not only put his city on the map; but more so wanting to create an extraordinaire influence to the upcoming youth, all while showing the world why he is working so hard on coming up as a hip-hop artist. We have had the opportunity to interview Cash Gotti to see what we are able to expect from this east-side rapper.

1. When did you realize that being an artist was your calling?
I realized that being an artist was my calling when I dropped once of my first records solo. When I first started I was doing a lot of features. I wasn’t really an artist of my own, I was more so for the guys. The single went crazier than it did with the group. That’s where I understood that the streets messed with me! I started to capitalize on that!

2. How was your childhood growing up in Boston?
My childhood growing up in Dorchester was rough. Now, I’m older and looking back, but at the time it all seemed regular. I would hear gunshots down the street, the average person run and duck; But we trying to see who shooting? It’s a lot of ups and downs, but with the bad comes with the good. I love the city because it made me into the man I am. It was rough, but now I’m strong minded!

3. What has been your best accomplishment thus far in your music career?
My best accomplishment is that I’m still pushing strong. I have a feature with one of the biggest artists at this moment. But honestly, I’ve been keep pushing – being consistent. Not taking no for an answer.

4. Tell us your journey to becoming Cash Gotti. How does it feel to be able to collaborate with elite artist such as Grammy Award winning artist Roddy Rich?
My journey becoming Cash Gotti, it was a long role. My name on the streets would call me Gotti because Gotti is a 2nd name in my area. My first rap name was Strip Life Cash. I made it to a point where people knew I had Cash, so they nicknamed me Cash Gotti. But I was always the boss, even when I didn’t have much. I always made sure my family and friend would eat.
I feel like anybody else would be amazed at themselves, I’m humbled, but a lot of this is overdue. This is meant, and written. The collab was only right because I make great music. He’s an amazing artist.

5. Explain the meaning behind your new song “They Know”?
“They Know” brings me back to my come up in Boston. It’s basically about being a smooth criminal. You don’t have to be the loudest or toughest in the room, it’s about handling your business when your back is against the wall. I don’t have to overextend myself, this is truly me! It speaks on who I am, from a whole perspective.

6. What should we expect from your next project; any collaborations to look forward to in the near future?
I’m doing a lot of work from people from my city, because I want to open the doors for them. You’re going to expect a lot more collabs from my area. Of course more bigger artist! But I’m going to be giving 100% fire, front to back on all projects. My goal is to create projects where you have to say, “Wait…run that back!”

7. If you can give the younger generation of aspiring artist advice; what would you advise?
I would tell them, don’t take no for an answer. If they say no, take the back door. Bring your own money. Don’t look for handouts. No one is going to do anything for you, for free. Also, be you! Don’t try to get on the record trying to sound like someone else. Make sure you’re true to yourself! Don’t throw on a cape and mask when you walk into the booth! Walk into there being 100% yourself!

8. What can we expect in the near future from Cash Gotti?
Shows! Visuals! “Everything Dirty” Me continuously putting my city on the back! Me opening doors for people from my city! I feel like it’s only right!
