Eric Roberts On His New Movie “Inside The Rain,” His Approach To Acting, Working Nonstop & More

Inside The Rain is a wincingly funny rom-com drama hybrid that encapsulates the struggles and challenges faced by young people with bipolar illness. Based on his own life, writer, director and star Aaron Fisher delivers an authentic and insightful look at what it means to live with the disorder and how it impacts one’s future. The film also Academy Award nominees Eric Roberts and Rosie Perez.

The film opened in New York on March 13th with very impressive box office numbers, and was scheduled to release in 40 cities across the country on March 27th. However, that release date was been postponed due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, and Inside The Rain has shifted towards an immediate video-on-demand release. The list of platforms offering the film currently includes iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft, Prime Video, Pluto TV, Tubi, Crackle, Sling TV, Stirr and Xumo.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Eric Roberts by phone on March 18, 2020, as embedded below, right before the Coronavirus had taken ahold of life as we knew it. Roberts was as nice as can be, not only talking about Inside The Rain, but how he’s managed to be so prolific as an actor, why he got into acting, The Expendables, future projects and his family. More on the acclaimed actor can be found online at www.twitter.com/EricRoberts and www.facebook.com/EricRobertsActor, while more on Inside The Rain is online via the film’s official website, www.insidetherainmovie.com.
