Wren Wilder Releases New Music Video “Worth The Cold”

LA-based indie folk singer, Wren Wilder, released her debut album, First Flight, alongside an earthy fun music video for one of the hits, “Worth the Cold.” A song about appreciating the little things and knowing what is most important.

Set outside in a greenery forest environment, Wilder’s music video features a “nest” fit for a wren, cobblestone secret staircases, and towering trees. Wilder’s movement and contemporary dance emulate the fun and freedom she experiences when she is enjoying the little things in life such as drinking coffee and being with her love. Inspired by a time when her husband was away on a trip, Wilder longs for his return and sings how she would rather be outside in the freezing cold with her love than inside warm and alone. Set in the autumn, the camera shoots fun, intimate and romantic moments in the music video. Her soft, yet powerful vocals compliment the Wurlitzer piano and folk-vibe stringed instrumentals.

The New Jersey native, singer/songwriter grew up playing the violin and piano. She took vocal lessons from a young age and discovered her love and passion for music. Inspired by Billie Holiday, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell, Wren’s music and sound is highly influenced by the anti-folk and old jazz scene. Not only is she a talented storyteller and excellent vocalist, but Wren also studied Jazz Vocals at the University of Hartford, eventually obtaining a BFA in Sound Design for Film from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Immersed in the entertainment industry, Wren work’s as a post-production re-recording sound mixer for film and television and works out of Warner Bros. and other major post-production studios in Los Angeles as well as music editing for the show, The Animaniacs.
