Cooking with Cannabis Like Never Before

If you hear about cannabis in the media, the chances are that the news isn’t going to be that pleasant. Most of the media coverage revolves around crime, the number of arrests, or even robberies of dispensaries. Some open-minded websites might publish a different piece of news. For example, you might read that marijuana legalization brings down crime rates by 19%. However, what you will rarely have the chance to inform yourself about is how cannabis is represented in other industries. There are fantastic projects you can hear about in the world of music, art, and even cooking! Although cannabis is still not represented in the mass media, its popularity is growing.

Aside from influencers who are talking about their journeys into the world of cannabis, marijuana has spread across the business world, as well. You can read about prominent business owners developing new software to meet the growing demands of the industry. In fact, there’s a lot more content being generated that appeals to the wider population. One of the most interesting initiatives is definitely a new cooking show. What makes it special is that the main focus is on cannabis that is used as the main ingredient.

Netflix Is Leading the New Wave of Cannabis-Related Projects

Many celebrities have chosen to support the legalization of cannabis publicly. One of them is Kelis, whose famous hit song Milkshake is probably still stuck in your head. She has always been vocal about her attitude concerning this topic. She took it one step further as she will be co-hosting a Netflix cooking show called Cooked with Cannabis. Her partner in this exciting endeavor will be a famous weed chef. Currently based in Portland, Leather Storrs has confirmed his participation. He has built a name for himself by declaring that he wants to be the Anthony Bordain of cannabis. One of his goals is to help raise awareness of this type of cooking.

Another important thing to note is that Kelis isn’t a stranger to the culinary world at all. Besides singing for more than two decades, she has found the time to graduate from the renowned Le Cordon Bleu. This might come as a shock to you, but she has been very much present in the cooking world. She has been hosting shows, creating a new line of sauces, working closely with other chefs, and she even published a cookbook. Kelis has voiced her opinion on social media that food can bring people together and help them resolve their differences.

Netflix is the perfect medium to pioneer this type of competitive show. It has already dipped its toes into content related to cannabis. A couple of documentaries to begin with, but also a long list of marijuana-themed movies are already available on this immensely popular streaming platform.

What Can You Expect from This New Cooking Show?

The first season of the never-before-seen show will comprise six episodes. It will have its premiere on April 20.

In every episode, you’ll be able to see three professional chefs. Their task will be to create the best three-course meal that contains ingredients infused with cannabis. It’s important to mention that the prize will be $10,000! Hosts will have the task of rating the final dishes. Also, each episode will feature a different celebrity guest.

It’s already confirmed that Ricki Lake will make an appearance. She is famous for advocating the legalization of cannabis and hosting a talk show. Another celebrity to join this show will be an American rapper Too $hort.

In these troubling times, it isn’t easy to decide what you should focus on. Try opting for things that keep you occupied and more productive. You can easily have ingredients delivered to your doorstep. Focus on trying out new recipes. Perfect at least one or two so you can brag at dinner parties as soon as you can host them again.
