Three Doors Down’s Greg Upchurch On His New “Skin To Skin” Single, COVID-19 & More

Greg Upchurch is probably best known as the drummer for the multi-platinum rock band 3 Doors Down. Prior to joining 3 Doors Down in 2005, Upchurch had stints with Eleven, Chris Cornell, and Puddle Of Mudd. But unfortunately 3 Doors Down is currently on break from the road like all major touring rock bands, with its official return to the touring world not yet announced.

Upchurch is using his current quarantine time to be musically productive at home. He recently wrote a song called “Skin To Skin” on which he did all the music and vocals himself. It’s an honest and heartfelt song written during and about the COVID-19 pandemic situation that many readers of The Hype also currently find themselves in, featuring Upchurch on vocals and all instruments.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Greg Upchurch by phone on April 28, 2020 about “Skin To Skin,” drumming influences, future plans, his Oklahoma roots and more. More Upchurch and “Skin To Skin” can be found online at www.facebook.com/gregupchurch11 and www.3doorsdown.com.
