UK Avant Pop artist Zilla With Her Eyes Shut releases her experimental self-titled project via Accidental Records, available now via Spotify and Bandcamp.

12 songs deep, each song plays out like a piece of Zilla’s personality making up for a wild musical ride. A classicly trained pianist, Zilla takes time to guide listeners through journeys of her past with “memories of childhood trauma, mysterious injuries sustained sleepwalking and coming to terms with the voices in her head,” all things typical for a musician bordering the line of genius and insane.

First connecting with label boss Matthew Herbet, the two have continued to grow their working relationship over the last 3 years with Zilla’s new project marking their latest and greatest creative endeavor. With the ability to play highly difficult classic music Zilla’s ability to also adapt her production to modern-day sounds is what separates herself from most trained musicians on Zilla With Her Eyes Wide Shut. Before hooking up with Accidental Records, Zilla penned tunes for artists including Tinie Tempah, Wretch32 with Yogi, and more. More About Zilla

Born and raised in Paris, Zilla is a singer, songwriter and producer who trained as a classical pianist at a Parisian conservatoire for 10 years before moving to London at 18. There she started writing piano-based music over hip hop beats, inspired by her favourite composers and experimental electronica. It’s a globe-trotting sound that reflects her heritage: Zilla’s mother is the Ivory Coast ambassador to Denmark, her father a chemistry professor who fled Guinea’s dictatorship in the 1970s.
