A Q&A With Hip Hop Artist Michael Dean Official

Dean Michael Martinez-Atilano aka Michael Dean Official has been a true Hip Hop lover since the beginning. Infatuated with lyricism, he hopes to make a difference with his self-made music, inspired by the most talented artists in the game. Soon to release his new album “Almost Famous”, we had the chance to sit down with Michael to talk about how he feels his music can best communicate what’s going on in his life and how that might help others who are in a similar situation.

How did your upbringing influence the music you make today?

I have been listening to hiphop since I was 7 years old first hearing Nas illmatic “one Mic’ It changed the way I viewed music and I became infatuated with lyricism and learning how to put words together with heavy metaphoric punchlines that’s the reason why I rhyme the way I do with my style I was growing up off Eminem and Nas and 5o cent. It was a time when it was exciting to hear new music.

How do you feel your music can truly make a difference?

I speak from the heart. Not all of my music is straight Trap or Rugged Hip hop. I actually have a lot of my newer music with a lot of my past and present and truly capture what really goes on in my life rather than just speaking into non-existent fiction a lot of the stuff I’ve spoken about I have been apart of or have been factual events. I believe people will relate to how they really associate their life to mine some may even consider it the same or similar. it then inspires. as it has to me.

What musicians did you look up to when you were a kid?

I looked up to Nas, Eminem, 50 Cent, D12 ( Excluding bizarre) G- unit and Even musicians that past early on in my childhood Tupac and NWA. Dr Dre especially!

Do you feel like musicians have a responsibility to be role models?

Yes because if you have a fan base that connects with you its like a lot of people in this world find strength and guidance through different things or different people. if you are a voice you should really use it. be the person you want to be.

If you knew you were going to be stuck on a deserted island and could only bring 5 albums, what 5 albums would you bring?

Illmatic, Marshal Mathers Lp, anything Hopsin, King Los new album ( FIRE), viral by Caskey.

What is your dream tour? Where would you want to travel?

The world like everyone else.

Have you been creating during quarantine? How has this time in the world affected your music?

Yes. I have actually put together an album and a couple singles with artists such as Caskey, and King los as well as working closely with my good friend and producer iLL FADED who is Legit a genius when it comes to creating Music. I have a video in the works as well with King Los for our New Track “ALL BAD” which will be coming very soon. Also Go and watch “TRVP” feat. Caskey!!!

What can fans look forward to in 2020? New music?

My Freshman Album ” Almost Famous.” It’s a sarcastic dry sense of humor and aggressive style album where I talk about my past my good my bad my struggles my every day life. Its definitely packed with surprises and some dope content that I can’t wait for everyone that is wanting to hear to listen too!
