Baltimore Pop Trio ‘Pink Elefants’ Release “GOOBA” Remix

Our new favorite pop trio Pink Elefants very recently released the official music video for their single “Blame On Me“. The single received an incredible response from audiences worldwide; responding to popular demand, the trio is quick to follow-up with their official remix to Tekashi 6ix 9ine’s new single “GOOBA”. I had the chance to sit down with the band to talk about what inspired the remix and what fan reaction has been like thus far…

What inspired you to release a remix to “GOOBA” specifically?

Aside from anyone’s opinion of 69, the beat from his single is incredible. It has a great bounce to it and Sammie was able to just put something over top of it. Once he started flowing, the rest of us were just like “track that!”

What has the fan reaction been like around the remix and how do you feel it did as a follow-up to your most recent release “Blame On Me”?

It is a little different than blame on me. Blame on me falls in the realm of pop with an innuendo of R&B… but the gooba remix definitely stands in the world of rap and everyone loved it. The differences in tracks is what I think people love about us. We give a little bit of everything.

Tell us a little bit about your creative process; is everything produced in house and if not, who are some producers you’ve worked with in the past?

Gooba we tracked ourselves. Finch mostly takes the seat of the engineer when we are tracking songs on our own. As for songs like blame on me, we went down to Georgia and worked with two awesome producer/engineers by the name of Lee Rouse and Josh Landry.

How does Pink Elefants differ from your past projects?

Well we’ve all had vastly similar and different projects. Megosh was a pretty well known group of ours but that was rock. Another that you could find on YouTube is Hiphop anonymous. Check them out!

How are you guys doing during quarantine? What are some awesome discoveries you have made and what are the things you’re struggling with?

Well we have discovered some awesome karaoke groups on Facebook to occupy our time. We go live nightly and perform via Facebook Live and have a great time performing and meeting new people. But we’ve been staying healthy and keeping to ourselves physically.

Do you feel like artists have a responsibility to be role models. Why or why not?

Artists are role models whether they choose to be or not. We don’t necessarily consider ourselves the go-to for an example of the perfect model but we at least try to be good people and remain loyal to our fans.

Tell us something about Pink Elefants that fans might not already know.

Pink Elefants is still learning things about ourselves so it’s hard to pinpoint that. I can say that we are very open to talking with fans so anyone can find us, message us and we will respond.

What can fans look forward to in 2020? More music? Livestream shows?

Pink Elefants is on all platforms of social media and anywhere music is bought and sold. We go live daily and can always be found discussing music, sharing ideas and even playing games live on twitch with our fans. New music is constantly being worked on and will be a habit of ours.
