Ian Lockwood Releases Comedy/Pop Nasty EP and First Video (I Don’t Think This Is) The Club

The the Nasty EP, the new comedy/pop release from Brooklyn indie-comedy favorite Ian Lockwood is out! Lockwood humorously explores classic pop themes heightened to new levels of insanity (title track Nasty asks, “what if a ‘bad girl’ were actually manipulative and murderous”). Other tracks throw parody out the window and pick absurd theses for pop bangers (like Horny For Bowser, a bouncy Ariana Grande-style love song about being, well, horny for Bowser from Super Mario Brothers). Inspired by modern micro-pop icons like Carly Rae Jepsen and Kim Petras, Nasty pioneers a new style of comedy music where musical quality doesn’t take a back seat to good comedy, or in Lockwood’s words, “funny bops”. On Nasty, catchy hooks and impressive musical production compete with hilarious punchlines and shocking twists to create an album that begs to be revisited over and over. These are bangers, AND they are hilarious!

You can check out the first video from the Nasty EP called (I Don’t Think This Is) The Club:

The video is an ode to not being able to find the club, with rapidly escalating repercussions! The video was filmed entirely by Ian (who plays all characters), while under quarantine, and is a testament to how resourceful one can be with extremely limited resources, lots of imagination, and a green screen!
