Jamie Kennedy On His Comedy Special “Stoopid Smart,” Turning 50, COVID-19, Jerry Heller & More

Actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy’s new stand-up comedy special Jamie Kennedy: Stoopid Smart premiered exclusively on the #1 free streaming app Tubi TV on May 25, 2020. Initially loved by audiences for his 1990s films Kickin’ It Old School and Malibu’s Most Wanted and his television show The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Jamie Kennedy took centerstage in this one-hour installment directed by Kurt Kubicek. Stoopid Smart features material about Kennedy’s life as an unmarried man, being recognized in an Olive Garden, and Alexander Graham Bell’s likely thoughts about sexting.

The comedy special was filmed in Huntington Beach, California’s Rec Room during Kennedy’s recent nationwide headlining stand-up tour. Its May 25th release coincided with Kennedy’s 50th birthday on that same date, on which Kennedy participated in a CYA livestream: https://www.cya.live/event/1970. Jamie Kennedy: Stoopid Smart will also be available on Amazon, iTunes and Digital platforms in June 2020; a trailer from the special is below for your viewing pleasure.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Jamie Kennedy via Zoom on May 28, 2020 about Stoopid Smart, career accomplishments, the current COVID-19 pandemic, future plans and more. The talented multi-hyphenate was as pleasant as can be, and more information about him — including his Hate To Break It To Ya podcast — can be found online by visiting his website: www.jamiekennedy.com.
