Live Session with Gen.G Creative Director Gina Lee to Discuss the Unique Way They Mesh The Gaming and Music Worlds

Like the skateboard or surfing esports, i.e., gaming is here to stay and there are some global superstars in the realm who are joining forces with music creators from around the globe to take it to the next level. Gen.G is one such global gaming brand that meshes the gaming world with music to enhance the gameplay, add to the drama of the contests and in general reach out a hand of friendship to an industry, music, which is a perfect fit with the gaming world.

With all live events and sports currently shuttered, esports has taken center stage to fill the entertainment void. Furthermore, artists and labels are working together in previously uncharted partnerships to create and reach new audiences together. Gen.G, a global esports organization across China, Korea, and the U.S., has teamed up with Korean American rapper Junoflo and producer/artist Davidior (who has worked with DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper, etc.) to unveil its new global song and lyric video “BOMB!.”

The song/video release will be played for the first time in conjunction with the LCK playoffs resuming on Wednesday in Korea with the goal of uniting all of its competitive teams under the #TigerNation brand.  #1 Gen.G plays the winner of DragonX vs. T1 for the title on Saturday.

Gen.G introduced a song last year by Davidior with Seoul Dynasty in the Overwatch League to hype up the fans as the team entered the arena.  Due to the very popular YouTube video (no images, just the song playing a black screen), Gen.G decided to blow out a new song and release an official gaming-themed music video in time for the LCK finals this week.

The Hype Magazine caught up with Gen.G Creative Director Gina Lee to get a better understanding of how the world of esports works in conjunction with artists and labels to take this global phenomenon known as esports to the next level with cutting edge music and around the corner thinking from labels who see Gen.G as the perfect opportunity to do something great outside of the music industry box.
