Nashville Flow-Pop Artist danny G Releases The First Single Off Of His Quarantine Mixtape Entitled “came through”

We’re witnessing the inspiration that comes from isolation with flow-pop artist danny G’s upcoming project, appropriately entitled “quarantine tapes”. The EP is set to roll-out through the month of May with an IG live stream every Monday at 8pm EST followed by a single release every Thursday. During his live streams, danny G will introduce the story behind the song, remaking the track LIVE for fans while giving them the option to donate to a new fan voted charity each week. While state by state quarantine regulations differ, May will be a time to either take-in the music from the comfort of your home or to reflect on your days inside and learn what one another did to pass the time in April. “came through” is the lead single off of his “quarantine tapes”, available on all streaming platforms today, introducing a brand new sound from danny. While maintaining his fun-loving, lighthearted nature, “came through” delivers a soulful vibe with trumpets and a baritone vocal, almost entirely produced by danny himself. Self-aware of the similarities, he raps “And everytime I flow you say I sound like Chance the Rapper, and I don’t like to be compared but it don’t matter”. Playfully admitting his inspirations, it’s so easy to relate to danny as he talks about taking a girl out to Maggiano’s and for ice cream at McDonald’s…you know, all of the things we are missing here in quarantine!

“What if you came through, what if I hold you / What if you loved me, and all of my friends too”

“came through” introduces that “What if?” question to the girl he admires, knowing that life is too short not to take chances. So what if you took that chance and everything worked out? Obviously, this is a pre and post-quarantine mindset; this in mind, danny delivers listeners a refreshing escape from our grim realities through positive storytelling and buoyant instrumentals. With each track on “quarantine tapes”, he takes us on a journey through an authentic lens into danny’s life. Humanizing both his mental and physical world, he features skits with family at home, discussing the positive things that came out of quarantine. This is a time to be truly grateful for your loved ones and for those friends who have continued their connection through live streamed chats and game nights. danny G plans to follow the release of “came through” with singles “best friend” on May 14th, “lucky” on May 21st, and the entire “quarantine tapes” project on May 28th.

danny G coined the term “flow pop” to describe his pop/rap infused sonic landscape, reminiscent of acts like G-Eazy and early Mac Miller. In a world that craves a humanized approach to art, danny G is fearlessly himself. As a 23 year old who defies genre limits, he draws inspiration from top pop acts such as Charlie Puth while at the same time harnessing influence from rappers like Dave East and YBN Cordae. danny pushes authenticity and love as he aims to inspire those who come across his artistry to be themselves and embrace their imperfections. The recent college graduate garnered the attention of big acts in 2019, putting out records with Xuitcasecity, Cam Meekins, and even hitting the studio with Gym Class Heroes frontman, Travie McCoy. danny is poised for a huge 2020 with lots of fun surprises on the way that you won’t want to miss.
