Sayge Drops Heart-on-sleeve New Single ‘Somethin’ Pretty’

Rising New York artist Sayge has unveiled new single ‘Somethin’ Pretty’.

A smooth R&B jam, ‘Somethin’ Pretty’ is characterised by Sayge’s confident vocals and honest lyricism, with the proud New Yorker stressing the importance of being your own person and kicking the bad vibes into touch. It follows on from recent singles ‘Fade Away’ and ‘Toxic’, with Sayge continuing to win fans from far and wide.

“Somethin’ Pretty is my anthem to people of my past,” he explains. “Speaking to those who thought I wouldn’t be anything. Whether it be because of my ethnicity, where I was from, or how I moved. This is for all the fake supporters, the ones who turned their back, the ones who never gave it a chance & also those who stuck around. It’s about being selfish every now & then, doing things for yourself & not letting distractions around you throw you off.”

An independent singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Sayge has built a reputation around his moody take on pop and R&B that often includes guitar solos, gospel arrangements and switches between English and Spanish vocals. Blending his love of jazz and blues with an obsession with Slash and Prince, he dips into the past to create a sound that’s remarkably fresh and modern.

His third single in quick succession, ‘Somethin’ Pretty’ sees Sayge continue to develop his idiosyncratic sound.
