Singer, Songwriter and Producer Chloe Angelides Hypnotizes With New Single “Crickets”

“I’m excited to show people the music I’ve been making,” says singer, songwriter and producer Chloe Angelides.  “It’s different from anything I’ve written for other artists.”

Set over a hypnotic beat, Angelides’ new single “Crickets” is the story of unbalanced love and the feeling of loneliness that inevitably brings. The regret, anger, confusion and sadness over time wasted.  Out now on her label Spanakopita Lullabies through Empire, the song has obvious parallels to society in isolation, apparent both lyrically and sonically yet purely coincidental.

“Crickets” was produced in Los Angeles by Chloe and Tim Anderson, whose credits range from Banks and Halsey to Twenty One Pilots and Charlotte OC.  The track was mixed by Head (PJ Harvey, Bat For Lashes, Massive Attack, James Blake) in the English countryside.

The song follows her debut single “Ex WiFi” released in February, aka the world we left behind for now.  As a writer she also has had tracks released recently from Selena Gomez and Ekali & Illenium (for whom she was also a featured vocal) and has upcoming tunes from Demi Lovato, G-Eazy and Kygo featuring Kim Petras (with Chloe as co-producer), among others.

Since 2014, Chloe Angelides’ songwriting talents and background vocals have been sprinkled across the landscape of R&B, hip-hop, dance, and pop.  She’s written songs for Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Yuna and more.  After years spent honing her songwriting skills and giving top tier talent a voice, she’s preparing to speak her own truth as a solo act – and she has a lot to talk about.  Arriving in Los Angeles at the age of 21, her demo for a song called “Zipper” found its way to a Warner Records A&R, and Jason Derulo liked it enough to include it on his internationally successful Talk Dirty album. Chloe was subsequently snapped up by Dr. Luke’s publishing company Prescription Songs.

Her years of training and conditioning was always going to lead her back to her original goal, and there’s no better way to find out who you are than going it alone – both personally and professionally.  Her intimate, soulful and confessional self-produced upcoming music is a fascinating real time document of that transition.

Currently “safer at home” in Los Angeles, Chloe continues working on new material.
