Tomi Agape releases new single London (Prod Juls), a love song to her city

London born Alté singer Tomi Agape is set to release her new single ‘London’ via Rah Boy Music on 8th May.

Produced by A-Lister and friend Juls – who has worked with the likes of Burna Boy, Maleek Berry & Mr Eazi‘London’ is a love song to the city Tomi holds close to her heart. With the video showing snippets of what now feels like a distant memory, we see Tomi’s life play out through her own eyes. Capturing an essence of nostalgia, the montage of videos perfectly demonstrates the beauty of the capital whilst also presenting our current harsh reality. This isn’t the first time the pair have worked together, Tomi also featured on Juls’ debut EP ‘Leap Of Faith’ alongside Santi on ‘After Six’, a game-changing record for all involved.

A true underground legend, the singer-songwriter was a key figure in both London and Nigeria’s Alté scene, being one of the first women to experiment with the genre. Tomi went on to collaborate with some of the movements most exciting artists, including Santi’s culturally defining track ‘Rapid Fire’, which also features Amaarae and Shane Eagle. The track went on to receive over 10 million streams and solidified Tomi’s status as part of the original trailblazers.

Tomi has been consumed by songwriting since she wrote her first song when she was just 11 and has never looked back. Born in North West London to Nigerian parents, Tomi’s inspiration is a fusion of her culture as well as looking to her icons; Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Beyonce. With music becoming one of the last remaining vices, we look forward to more music from Tomi on the horizon.
