Who Is Stonebwoy?
Stonebwoy is a Grammy-nominated artist and rose to international stardom after being the first artist of his kind to win the BET Award for Best International Act in 2015. He has worked with the likes of Sean Paul, Burna Boy, Trey Songz, Beanie Man, Kranium, amongst many others.
The Hype Magazine wanted to know more and got Stonebwoy to weigh in on a few things!
From the outside looking in, who is Stonebwoy?
Stonebwoy is born Livingstone Etse Satekla who hails from the Volta region of Ghana ALAPKLE / ANLOGA to be specific and raised in Ashaiman, a suburb of the capital Accra. Stonebwoy is a multiple international award-winning recording artiste and CEO of his own independent label Burniton Music Group.. He also owns a Charity Organisation known as the Livingstone Foundation.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
I grew up realizing my talent at a very early age as an infant, singing, dancing, acting and I never stopped so nothing really pushed me pushed me to do anything different.
What do you want people to get from your music?
I want people to live off my music on a day-to-day basis as it inspires and speaks to their minds, hearts and souls – that’s what I want to be remembered for.
Tell us about your current project and what it means for you
My current project #ANLOGAJUNCTION means a lot to me in the sense that it’s a continuation of my musical journey as I express myself and life.. this album is rooted in the African musical culture where all the experiences and influence have come to meet at a junction with the influence and experience from the diaspora. It means sticking to my roots while diversifying to accommodate the rest of the world.

Just as it’s carefully arranged I’ll pick track 1 #LEGBAGBE (ALIVE).
Tell us about your work and passions outside of music
My life is music and music is my life but outside of music I have the passion to create music and impact in peoples lives and a messenger through the music. Philanthropy is my passion, preaching The Reality of mankind’s existence and the very core of life’s relation to spirituality.

My WTF Moment is when all kinds of things are being said about and imposed on Africa while we stand and look.
