Caye Delivers Pop Magic With ‘Isa’ EP

Boston-bred artist Caye taps into the joy of living with new pop-leaning EP, Isa. The four track project, released June 29th, shows an evolved Caye seamlessly blending his hip-hop and rap tendencies with a healthy dose of pop and reggae influence.

Meaning “one” in Tagalog, Isa follows his journey to “become one with a more loving, nuanced, and understanding version” of himself:

“It’s told from the point of view of my past self, discovering new things about myself through trial and error in different relationships.  The theme that runs through all of these songs is the arc of a relationship—with people, things, or places—and the growth that comes from relationships changing… If you learn how to grow, everything in life becomes positive.” – Caye

Earlier this month, 100% of the proceeds from Isa’s lead single, “Happy?” were donated directly towards Black Lives Matter

Multi-instrumentalist Caye grew up playing piano, guitar, bass, drums, and most predominantly, the steel pan. In 2013, he travelled to Trinidad to stay with a local family who immersed him in the culture of the steel pan and the culture of its origins. Taken by the instrument’s unique sound and rich history, Caye began producing and writing songs heavily influenced by island culture and the local Boston hip-hop scene.

In the fall of 2016, he moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. Within a year, as his career took off, Caye took a leave of absence to begin touring the country and spread his signature sound.  He’s since completed three North American tours playing over 100 shows, collected over 46.5 million streams, collaborated on a chart-topping song with Wiz Khalifa, and written and produced for acts like Alessia Cara and Meghan Trainor.
