Dugong Jr Shares Hypnotic New Single ‘Ghost’ Featuring Evangeline

Melbourne based multi-disciplinary creative Dugong Jr has shared his latest single, ‘Ghost’. The track features sugary vocals from fellow Melbournian artist, Evangeline, which are haunted by a whirling synth riding beneath the infectious beat.

On the new single, Dugong Jr explains, ‘My sound palette for Ghost was definitely heavily inspired by late 70’s early 80’s disco. I wanted to create something that was reminiscent of the sounds you might hear in an old Patrice Rushen or Parliament record, but with contemporary overtones. I knew I wanted a vocalist that was kind of dark but also playful with their lyricism, so I reached out to Evangeline cause that’s totally her lane’.

It is with an emphasis on authenticity and creative freedom that Australian multidimensional artist Dugong Jr not only lives, but thrives. An art school graduate and graphic artist, Dugong Jr exudes a DIY culture with extreme attention to detail. His sound engages with a sense of scrappy innovation to showcase a polished digital art form, infused with the conscious decision to focus on the gritty and imperfect elements of electronica. Equipped with an impressive skill set that has garnered the attention of worldwide audiences and industry alike, the young creative has amassed a collection of streams in the tens of millions and support from a long list of renowned industry stalwarts including Diplo, Steve Aoki and Jai Wolf. As he continues to work with emerging Australian talent and establish a new ambitious live show, Dugong Jr moves into a new phase of development for 2020. Embracing his DIY routes and crafting a sound that is uniquely his own to showcase to Australia and the world.
