Johnny From the Burbs Goes Hard With ‘Awful’ Out Now!

Australian Alternative Hip-Hop Artist Johnny From the Burbs drops a hard-hitting single Awful, where he aims to make a mark on the Australian Hip-Hop Scene with an energetic delivery elevating from his past releases such as ‘Choked Out!’ and ‘1-UP’.

A Producer and Artist in his own right, Johnny From the Burbs delivers his lyricism touching on a range of mature themes such as Politics and Drug abuse. His production style blends in both Alternative and Hip-Hop genres and is clearly seen throughout his past three mixtape releases ‘Propaganda’, ’Springtime Sorrows’, and ‘Bradenton’.

“Remember that rejection does not mean the end of the line. The next person may love whatever you show them.”  – Johnny From the Burbs

With roots in Punk and Metal from being introduced to music as early as 5 years old, it’s no surprise that Johnny From the Burbs has been influenced by a mix of classic and modern musicians such as Billy Joel, Queen, System of a Down and Metallica. His aggressive rapping style, which comes from his roots in the Metal genre, has garnered him comparisons to rappers with a similar style such as Denzel Curry, and EI-P of Run the Jewels.

With his track record approaching his 3rd year as an artist, Johnny From the Burbs has been able to garner the attention of Australian media with publications such as Pilerats, Mixdown Magazine, and Happy Mag describing him as “Delicious, lighthearted, iconic and playful”. Radios have also given their fair share of attention to his work with Johnny receiving support from Australian radio stations such as FBi Radio and 2SER including his songs in the “Soundcheck” and “Hardcore Classic” programs respectively.

With Awful being the first release for his upcoming debut album UNSTOPPABLE, the year 2020 is looking bright for this artist’s music with planned Instagram live shows to make up for the lack of physical shows this year.
