ONEDUO Participates in Virtual ‘Give Back Gala’ Benefitting No Kid Hungry and Black Girls CODE

In light of the recent pandemic and cultural movements, New York based DJ group ONEDUO has been making a point to stand on the right side of history by doing a number of things to raise money and awareness.  At the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, the group released a music video remixing the internet hit song  ‘Corona Virus’ which featured Akon and Chris Harrison from The Bachelor. All the proceeds were donated to the Solidarity Response Fund by the WHO. They have also hosted livestream DJ performances on Twitch and raised close to $2,000 which was later donated to  Forest Hills Northwell Hospital to build an outdoor memorial to commemorate those effected by COVID-19, and it doesn’t stop there.

On Saturday night the charitable duo participated in the Faviana Give Back Gala, co-produced by Gen Art. The event culminated with a nationwide virtual community experience on Tiktok and Instagram Live, hosted by Dance Moms alum, Sarah Reasons and Brynn Rumfallo, featuring special performances and celebrity appearances by Rudy Pankow from Netflix’s Outer Banks, Jonathan Daviss from Netflix’s Outer Banks, Jerry Harris from Netflix’s Cheer, Ava Michelle from Netflix’s Tall Girl, Logan Allen from Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, Louis Tomeo from Hulu’s Every Witch Way, Shane Gonzales, Indiana Massara, LODATO, Nia Sioux, Hannah Lucas, Charlie Lucas,, Miss Lela B, Lilly Ketchman and more! The goal was to bring joy and normalcy to those who are missing out on exciting milestones in their life — such as proms, weddings, fundraisers and more while also raising money and awareness.

The Virtual Give Back Gala was hosted as a live fundraising event to raise money for No Kid Hungry and Black Girls CODE. No Kid Hungry provides children in need with meals through donation. $1 equates to 10 meals for children. Black Girls CODE helps to empower African-American youth with the skills to occupy some of the 1.4 million computing job openings expected to be available in the U.S. by 2020, and to train 1 million girls by 2040.

Using their platform for good measure, the group is on a mission to unite their audience through both their music as well as positivity. Their hit song ‘Blink’ featuring VASSY is currently soaring the Billboard Dance charts, recently climbing it’s way to #15. We know there are many great things to come from this group and excited to watch as they continue to share good vibes and positivity in the industry.

To stay up to date with ONEDUO, follow them on Instagram and stream their music on all major platforms.
