Potter Payper makes surprise return with new EP ‘2020 Vision’

Potter Payper makes a surprising return with new EP ‘2020 Vision’, his first release since his 2018 incarceration, out 19th June. “I ain’t filthy rich but I’m filthy free,” the UK rap favourite enthused on his release from prison.

The EP kicks off with the 5ive-produced ‘Never Left’, a high-energy jam that proves Potter’s lost none of his lyrical wizardry during his musical hiatus. Next up, title track ‘2020 Vision Freestyle’ is a more downbeat, old-school hip-hop-style production that contrasts Potter’s cold, effortless delivery. ‘Filthy Free’ is a captivating, heart-on-sleeve dose of social realism, before the RXR-produced ‘PMW’ closes things out with Potter reflecting on his trap lifestyle.

An unsung hero of the UK rap scene, Potter Payper is a breath of fresh air with his chilling hood tails and head-turning lyrical depth. His musical journey began in 2013 with the game-changing Training Day, a mixtape that helped UK rap gain notoriety across the globe. His freestyles have since accumulated over 20 million views and he has received support from the likes of Giggs, Stormzy, Charlie Sloth and many more. ‘20/20 Vision’ is his first release since July 2018’s ‘Regina vs Jamel Bousbaa’. The title referenced his court hearing, as ‘R vs Jamel Bousbaa’ would have been the title for his case.

One of UK rap’s most revered artists, ‘2020 Vision’ marks the start of a new chapter in the life and career of Potter Payper.
