Protests and Pandemic Prompt 112 to Delay “Spend It All” Single Release

Iconic R&B group, 112, today announced the delay of their highly-anticipated new single, “Spend It All,” and urged fans to draw close to their families as the nation copes with a global COVID-19 pandemic compounded by rapid-unfolding protests surrounding the death of George Floyd. Fresh off their VERZUZ Battle win, the Grammy-winners originally declared a June 5 release of the first single from their upcoming EP, 112 Forever: Slim & Mike.  While a new release date has not yet been announced, 112 continue to make productive use of quarantine in the recording studio in preparation for the EP and by tending to their loved ones.

“We know y’all have been waiting on the new EP, and it’s coming,” expressed Mike and Slim in an Instagram video statement. “Due to everything going on right now, we felt it was better that we push things back a little bit, so we could focus on our families, and you can focus on yours. It’s a much better feeling. So be on the lookout, the new single is coming!”

Billboard and Revolt TV both declared 112 victorious after the legendary group went head-to-head with Jagged Edge on a Memorial Day edition of the VERZUZ battle in front of a live crowd of over 300 thousand fans. The two drew widespread media attention for their extensive list of chart-topping hits, as well as their comedic and competitive spirit. The freshly reinvented group has been performing to sold out crowds for the last two years, and the new record will mark the follow up to their 2018 single, “Tonight.” While social distancing has halted their robust 2020 concert schedule, 112 continues to keep the fans warm with a number of virtual appearances, such as their recent performance on KSweatLive.com.
