Tekashi 6ix9ine Released – What Happens Next?

With all the buzz created by the current coronavirus pandemic, many news remained unscrutinized properly by the media, in all areas. We barely heard of the public absence of North Korea’s leader before issuing an official statement saying that he is, in fact, alive and well, contrary to the worldwide rumors.

The same goes for NASA finally admitting to the existence of UFO videos, although it only confirms that the videos exist, and not that green little aliens have been abducting humans for decades.

General information

On a more positive note, rapper Tekashi 69 (also spelled Tekashi 6ixty 9ine) was released. If you’re unaware of who the rapper is, you’re clearly over 30 or have been living under a rock with limited Internet connection for the past few years.

The new-generation rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, is only 23 years old yet has been on the musical scene for several years, releasing hits like “Stoopid” or “ScumLife”. However, it’s not his music that made the front pages of magazines and newspapers around the world, but his trial.

The Dummy Boy rapper was facing a life prison sentence after multiple accusations of being involved in armed robberies, amongst others. In 2019, the young rapper was brought to court along with five other individuals, as being part of the violent Nine Trey Gang. Hernandez was also accused of violent crimes and drug-trafficking offenses, including attempted murder.

After facing one of the harshest punishments for his crimes, the rapper was labeled “a snitch” for accepting a deal with the DA to reveal unpleasant stuff about some of his gang members. He pleaded guilty for a series of charges, including gang robberies and shootings, but thanks to his cooperation with the authorities, he received a softer punishment of only 2 years in prison.

The current context

Fortunately or not, the current coronavirus outbreak hit prisons across the country hard, counting for thousands of inmate infections behind bars. In a desperate attempt to reduce contamination risks and prevent new outbreaks nation-wide, the authorities decided to early-release thousands of inmates who were serving their last months or years in prison for minor offenses.

Despite being accused of attempted murder, thanks to the deal negotiated with U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, Daniel Hernandez fell into the same category as other inmates and was released after spending approximately one and a half years behind bars.

What comes next?

The rapper was released in mid-May 2020, four months earlier, and will remain to finish his sentence in home confinement, according to his lawyer, Lance Lazzaro.

One of the reasons that weighed for his early release is his asthmatic precondition, which makes the rapper more vulnerable against the new coronavirus. Moreover, being behind bars, his lawyers argued that he wouldn’t get the best medical treatment even if something happened that could potentially threaten his life.

Prior to his sentence in prison, Hernandez made the headlines for potentially facing one of the most severe sentences in the recent history of violent gangs for charges that did not, in fact, include murder.

Many of his fans argued that the rapper was set as an example, while others argued that his minority heritage (Puerto Rican and Mexican descent) was one of the reasons why his punishment was so harsh.

Fast-forward to May 15th, 2020, and the rapper safely made it home, waiting for his last months of home arrest to be finished until he can be called a free man again.

Music future

The rapper’s fans were not only pleased to find out about their idol’s return but also received more positive news when Hernandez announced his big comeback on social media

According to one of his lawyers, there are no restrictions for his client to use social media accounts, which means we should be used with his online presence in the upcoming months.

As for those who were worried that the rapper’s short musical career would be over once he was released from jail, things are quite the opposite.

Shortly after he got home, he already released a new music video, and, according to his saying, he is ready to get back on track and record new songs. Hernandez reportedly signed a $10 million record deal with his former label, 10K Projects, for releasing two more albums. The deal was signed while he was awaiting sentencing, so he is allowed to release music while on house arrest.

However, fans shouldn’t expect complex and meaningful lyrics or the use of more subtle musical instruments, like the YPG-535 model from Yamaha. The rapper is rather known for his shocking image that includes face tattoos and rainbow hair rather than for rapping about anything else but feuds, money, and fame.

If you made it this far with your reading, we’re guessing this is real news for you.
