The American Cornhole League Announces ACL Virtual

The American Cornhole League (ACL), the originator of competitive Cornhole, is proud to introduce ACL Virtual – the technology platform allows players to compete remotely in tournaments from virtually anywhere they can connect to the internet and set up aboard.

As social distancing has become increasingly prevalent and important for the foreseeable future the ACL team’s top priority became offering players the chance to continue to participate in tournaments without endangering themselves or the health of others. With the launch of ACL, Virtual ACL Directors will be able to organize and operate events for anyone, with singles, doubles, or blind draw play available. As an added benefit, international players will also be able to compete in these events, giving most of them an opportunity to face an American talent for the first time.

ACL Virtual will run through ACL’s app (https://app.iplayacl.com), which allows players to register, pay their registration fee, submit their own results, and track stats from their tournaments. Once all players have registered for a given tournament the Director will initiate its start and provide players with a time limit to complete each round – most will provide 24 hours, though it is at the discretion of the Directors to provide more or less time. Players will be notified by text message, assigning them an opponent and from there can log in to the app and use the ACL Bag Tracker to keep track of every bag from all 10 rounds of play.

In addition to tracking bags players will be required to live broadcast their match to ensure the integrity of the tournaments, which will be streamed to a Facebook Event page created by the ACL Director and shared with the ACL Virtual Facebook group. ACL Directors will verify scores from each round, set subsequent matchups, and repeat the process until a winner has been determined.

“This is a challenging time for people across the globe, but while we endure and fight to regain our sense of equilibrium we can’t forget to take the time to enjoy ourselves safely,” said Stacey Moore, Commissioner, and Founder of the American Cornhole League. “ACL Virtual allows Cornhole enthusiasts across the world to indulge their passion with social distancing in effect and will continue to be a great platform well into the future for players to compete remotely even when in-person tournaments are again possible.”

The American Cornhole League hosts competition and tournaments across the amateur, collegiate, and pro ranks with thousands of players taking part every year.
